About MWP

MWP is an acronym that honors the maiden name of the matriarchs in my family. My matriarchs are my mother and grandmother, who are both strong, educated, and determined women. They have overcome many challenges in their lives, but they have always persevered. I am inspired by their strength and determination, and I am committed to carrying on their legacy.

MWP celebrates a legacy of women who inspire, preserve, and break down barriers for future generations. We are proud to be a part of this legacy, and we are committed to carrying it on. We believe that self-care and mental health are essential for all women, and we are committed to highlighting the importance of these topics.

My grandmother (Wilson), a church usher, seamstress, licensed teacher, mother of seven, and wife of a farmer, was born in 1912 and endured daily racism and bigotry in a rural, southern community. Yet she persevered. Her name was Evandres Porter.

My mother (Porter) was born 42 years later in 1954, the youngest child in her family. She was dedicated to carrying on her mother's legacy of service to others. She spent 20 years as an Early Childhood Education Specialist working with disadvantaged families and children with disabilities. She raised me in a diverse, suburban community. Her name is Ophelia Mosley.

Twenty-four years later, I made my (Mosley) debut in the world, inspired by the examples of my grandmother and mother. I have a heart for serving others, and I am passionate about public health, mental health, and suicide prevention. I am a Public Health Specialist, Certified Life Coach, Author, Mental Health Advocate, Suicide Awareness Trainer, Facilitator, and Professor. My name is Dr. Desireé Kelly.

Feedback & High-five Moments

"Dr. Kelly developed a curriculum that was informative and engaging. My students learned a lot about different mental health conditions and how to get help. We feel more prepared to support people who are struggling with mental health challenges."

"Dr. Kelly's presentation was very informative and helpful. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kelly to other school districts and we are looking forward to having her at future events." - Maury County Administration

"The book Is AWESOME!! I love the graphics and the positive-ness of your book during a very toxic times. I feel wrapped in a positive space." - Maria Smith (Training Director, TAADAS)

"The book My Beautiful Organized Chaos is described as a book for ages 17 and up…. I suggest it be for the 17 year old in me. I am jarred to revisit a time in my life when chaos seemed out of order rather than pieces of my “now” near complete vision. This book has a response that was as applicable then as it is now- there is power in the pause, schedule a time for worry! This is valuable! This book is valuable. This book is priceless! May the young lady in all of us be revived!" - Mary K. Laremore, MSW, MBA, CPRS (Butterfly Moments, Inc.)
